The Yomut kilims are traditionally handwoven by the Yomut or Yomud, one of the major tribes of Turkmenistan and to a lesser degree Northern Afghanistan. This kilim is from Turkmenistan, with a superb execution quality with a very elegant dark hue. All the colours are vegetable dyes. These kilims are of very sturdy construction with a subtle colour palette. The design is an all over repeat lattice but with very long plain kilim ends, dotted with misterious small random motives.  The kilim is very tightly woven and in excellent condition with no wear.
