This charming vintage Qashqai rug features a striking design with three large, elegant medallions at the center, surrounded by flocks of delightful little birds. The red field is adorned with peacocks, flowers, and bushes, exuding a strong tribal appeal. Noteworthy are the intriguing triangular shapes filled with vibrant primary colors—blue, yellow, and green—that echo the motifs found in traditional Qashqai kilims.
The inner border is uniquely crafted, featuring a vertical arrangement of a herd of goats—an unusual but captivating design choice. The outer borders are woven with an array of floral and geometric patterns.

Turkic-speaking pastoral nomadic tribal groups began entering central and southern Iran during the eleventh and twelfth centuries.The Qashqai, as a large tribal unit, dates back at least to the early eighteenth century, when some Turkish(Turki)-speaking tribal groups in the region existed under the name Qashqai.
