Carpet woven by the Qashqai tribe in south western Iran. This rug, with a central medallion and four smaller ones at each corner of the rug, is surrounded by a multitude of floral and plant motifs. On the main border, birds have been represented among the branches, a not very common motif for a border. The range of colors is very pleasant, and has beautiful color changes within the same hue, creating an effect of depth.
