kilim from the Lori or Luri tribe of Iran. This vintage kilim was hand-woven by a nomadic or village woman, using her own hand-spun and carded wool.
This original kilim combines the kilim technique with knotted areas (carpet). The artist who wove it probably had a small loom and that is why she made it in two pieces that were later joined at the center. The design is so different in both parts that it may even be two different weavers who have woven it. This is an unusual and different piece. A solid kilim, ideal for areas with a lot of traffic.
