Around the 1950s, tribes of Arab origin from southern Iran settled in and around Shiraz. With them they brought their techniques and motifs and continued to weave their kilims.
This kilim is quite square in size a feature that it is not easy to find. The design is made up of two huge medallions that concentrically open outwards, giving the impresion of movement. Both inside and outside of these medallions there are a multitude of small rhombuses divided into four parts. This kilim is thick and robust making it ideal for areas with a lot of passage.
