The Beluch tribe lives in between Afghanistan, Irán and Pakistan. This original kilim is from the border between Iran and Pakistan, near the Sind desert. The kilims woven in this area are different from kilims from other areas. The finest are used as covers for bedding and clothing stacked at the back of the tent.

These are the shaffi, recognizable by their very finely woven borders of white wool with rows of tiny motifs running into the plainweave bands of the field. It is unusual to weave black kilims.
