A rather unusual and original 1960s Qashqai rug with a central medallion surrounded by a laattice of pommegranates. The main red field and the four blue corners are very heavily filled with multiple motifs of leafs, trees and branches, bushes, flowers and geometric motifs.
In the middle of the rug, where the main red field joins the borders, the weaver has woven a couple of very interesting vertical motifs filled with zig-zags.
The wool is soft and shinny, and the dyes are a mixture of natural and synthetic dyes. This rug is very sturdy, ideal for a very heavy traffic area.
