Malbands are long narrow bands used to fasten loads onto camels, mules and horses for migration. Malbands are delicatelly woven, normally reversible, woven in a warp-faced double weave, with geometric designs and animals.
This semi-antique Qashqai horse or camel band has been woven with finelly spun wool and cotton. The pulley has a nice patina. Some human figures have been woven.
