This woven semi-antique kilim started its life as a large mule bag, complete with sturdy “handles” crafted from goat wool, designed to secure it to a saddle. It has since been opened out for use as a floor rug. Typically, the striped half would have been the back of the bag, while the more decorated side—the front—was meant to be seen. The plain part has been woven with undyed sheeps wool and presents beautiful colour changes throught the beige/brownish area.
Now transformed into a kilim, this piece features charming wool pompoms and has a considerable weight, making it ideal for high-traffic areas.
