A superb rug with nice and supersoft and shinny wool sheep´s wool. The design is formed by two big interlocked rhombs that occupy the central part of the rug. There are some smaller rhombs in the field of smaller size, as well as plenty of little pretty flowers. Please note the very interesting border that combines serrated motifs with rounder, more organic shapes. To weave this rug the highest quality sheeps wool has been used, and for the warp black goat´s wool, as can be appreciated in the fringes.

The Lurs are an Iranian people living in western Iran. The four Luri branches are the Bakhtiari, Mamasani, Kohgiluyeh and Lur proper, who are principally linked by the Luri language.Lurs are a mixture of aboriginal Iranian tribes, originating from Central Asia and the pre-Iranic tribes of western Iran.
Many Lurs historically were nomadic, and some remain so. But many live now as small-scale farmers, and semi-nomadic herders. Among their skills is a history of weaving technologies, both fabrics and carpets/rugs. The Kurdish and Luri speakers represent the oldest of the Iranian Persian speakers – the western reach of the Indo-Iranian-Europeans, the “Aryans”.
The Lurs occupy essentially the entire western part of Iran, from the Persian Gulf, northward into the Caucasus. Their “latch-hook” motif, and the use of rectangular, diamond-shaped and other geometric medallions, often are found among other weaving peoples, likely evidence of Luri influence.
