This semi-antique 1940s Baluch rug features an exceptionally soft wool pile that is as luxurious as it is durable. The wool is long, soft, and has a beautiful natural sheen. The main field showcases large-scale leaf motifs, while a set of woven bushes adds intricate detail against the undyed grey wool border. The border exhibits a stunning abrash, or natural color variation, enhancing its unique character.
Crafted in a rural setting without a predefined pattern, this rug embodies the spirit of traditional tribal artistry, woven by a skilled Baluch woman. The selvages are reinforced with strong goat’s wool for added durability.
