The Baloch or Baluch are an Iranian people who live mainly in the Balochistan region, located at the southeasternmost edge of the Iranian plateau, encompassing the countries of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. There are also Baloch diaspora communities in neighbouring regions, including in India, Turkmenistan and the Arabian Peninsula.
This vintage cushion woven by women of the Baluch tribe is woven from soft, lustrous wool. Its design is very unusual and resembles the Persian gabbhes of southern Iran. All the colors are natural, except purple, which is synthetic. The cushion is topped with beautiful kilim finishes. If you are looking for a semi-antique tribal item but with a contemporary aesthetic, this cushion is for you.
