Palas are a type of kilim woven to be used as a surface to do domestic activities within the nomadic comunity (dry vegetables, make cheese and so on). This original vintage kilim was hand-woven in Anatolia in the second half of the 20th century by a nomad or village woman by using her own hand-spun wool. Normally were woven with undyed wool, and a few colour touches were added. This palas is simple yet elegant. Often women had small looms, and therefore they could only weave small pieces. In this case, two pieces have been joined in the middle.
