Around the 1950s, tribes of Arab origen from Southern Iran settled in Shiraz and in the region. The weavers brough with then their techniques and motives and continued weaving kilims. This vintage kilim woven around the 1960s stands out for its elegant composition achieved through a very formal border, frames a central field with lattice arranged horizontally.

This kilim has a cheerful color palette and is very thick, ideal for areas with a lot of traffic or continuous and heavy use. It is very difficult to find large old and vintage kilims, and in fact, this is the largest kilim we have owned in the last 25 years! The kilim is straight and rectangular, but due to the huge size we couldn´t photograph it without losing the perspective.
