The Baloch or Baluch are an Iranian people who live mainly in the Balochistan region, located at the southeasternmost edge of the Iranian plateau, encompassing the countries of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. There are also Baloch diaspora communities in neighbouring regions, including in India, Turkmenistan and the Arabian Peninsula.
This vintage cushion made by a woman from the Adraskand Baluch tribe from the Herat area, is woven from very finely spun wool. Its design is very small and meticulous. On the obverse, the color black predominates and on the reverse, undyed natural wool. This cushion should be a very precious piece for its owner since it is extremely fine and detailed.
