Spectacular antique rug woven by the Adreskand Baluch tribe of Afghanistan. This rug is a prayer rug, as can be seen from the Mihrab. On both sides of the Mihrab a pair of hands have been woven indicating where to place them at the time of prayer. All the dyes are natural and the deep blue achieved with the indigo plant stands out, and a few yellow splashes add a charming touch. The pile is evenly worn. The rug is finished with kilim at two of the ends. A recommended rug.
